This series gives an overview and basic training on the federal Head Start performance standards to provide a good knowledge foundation for new staff and interested stakeholders.
Head Start 101
Looking for a way to provide orientation to your new staff who missed pre-service? Need to provide orientation in small increments throughout the year? Then Head Start 101 is for you! Designed for the new staff person, Policy Council/Governing Body member, or other stakeholders.
'We're Glad You're Here'
Is a ½ day workshop designed to motivate staff and start them off with a positive attitude. Training is an instructional video, designed to "train the trainer" on how to present to your staff, as well as all handouts and activiites you need for the presentation.
Your Role in Protocol
Approximately 2 hour workshop, is designed to help staff at all levels understand their role in a federal monitoring review and the self-assessment process. Participants will gain insights that the federal monitoring review is “not just for management staff.” In this workshop, participants will learn:
- What a federal monitoring review is
- How and when a review is conducted
- What a typical review week looks like
- How and why each staff person’s high level participation is critical
Program Governance
is a 2-4 hour workshop designed for the Policy Council and/or Governing Body, and provides a solid orientation to the overall governing and administration responsibilities of the program. The two main objectives for the Program Governance training include:
- Understand Program Governance and basic procedures it encompasses
- Understand Policy Council and Governing Body role in Federal Monitoring Reviews
